Description

In this sermon, we explore the profound desire God has to connect deeply with each one of us. Much like the joy of reconnecting with old friends during a road trip, God longs for an intimate relationship with His children. From the beginning of creation, God walked with humanity, but sin caused a great estrangement. Yet, throughout the Bible, we see God’s unwavering effort to restore that relationship, culminating in His promise in Revelation 21:1-7 where He declares His intention to “move into the neighborhood” and dwell among His people forever.

God’s ultimate desire is not for us to live in fear or separation but to be fully known and loved by Him. He demonstrated this love by becoming flesh in Jesus Christ, overcoming sin and death, so that we could live in eternal fellowship with Him. This isn’t a temporary visit; it’s a permanent move. God’s plan is the ultimate family reunion, and each of us is invited.

We are encouraged to see ourselves as God’s beloved children and to hold on to the hope that one day, He will wipe away every tear and make all things new. Meanwhile, we can experience God’s presence through the Holy Spirit, who offers comfort and guidance as we live out our lives as witnesses to His love and kingdom. God’s desire to dwell among us is a call to recognize our worth and live as His cherished sons and daughters, both now and in eternity.
