Description

What do you reach for when you’re anxious? What would make your vision blur if you lost it tomorrow? That reaction tells you something important about what you’re really trusting in.
In this sermon on Luke 12:13-34, we explore Jesus’ parable of the rich farmer and the question that cuts to the heart of our modern anxiety: “What is your life?”
After thirty years of uncertainty—financial collapses, pandemics, wars, and news cycles that never stop—we’ve learned to build bigger barns. Bigger savings accounts. Bigger plans. Bigger safety nets. We thought we were being wise. But Jesus asks a harder question: Do you have your possessions, or do they have you?
Through the story of a farmer who built his life on his barns and a God who called him “fool,” Jesus shows us there’s a better answer to the question “What is your life?” It’s not found in what you own. It’s found in being held by a Father who already knows what you need—and wants to give you the kingdom itself.
